Limited Coverage of Tiger Woods at the 2009 US Open

Limited Coverage of Tiger Woods at the 2009 US Open
By Jacqueline White

This past weekend we enjoyed, or maybe endured, the media coverage of the 2009 U.S. Open at BethPage Black in New York. The weather presented delays and, as a result, the final round was not completed until Monday, June 22nd, instead of the traditional finishes held on Sunday afternoons.

I found the tournament most interesting. Unusual for the media coverages of most golf events, we were not inundated with shot after shot of Tiger Woods. Now don\'t get me wrong, while I respect his ability and accomplishments, the media coverage he generally receives can be over-the-top. Granted he was not leading the tournament and struggled with putting on the rain soaked greens, which were slower than intended. I think his lack-luster play allowed the media to focus on the professionals that were making a charge, hitting a great bunker shot, getting an unusual eagle or birdie, and just playing better.

Clearly the emotional and fan favorite at the \"Open\" was Phil Mickelson. Although he tried to \"right his ship\", unfortunately, he once again came up short and tied for 2nd place. This was his 5th tie for second place at the U.S. Opens. Apparently, Phil, at least at these events, finishes as the \"bridemaid\". What a shock to see David Duval, who also tied for second place, along with Mickelson and Ricky Barnes. Duval received more coverage at this event than he has in total for the past five years of his comeback efforts. Duval was listed as the 828 player, a far cry from being #1 ten years ago. Great job and I sure hope that he is on the right track. Ricky Barnes, who has been on the Nationwide Tour for the past several years, also tied for second along with Mickelson and Duval. Barnes\' performance moved he up the list of professionals from the 519th ranked player to 153. Though he faltered along in the final round, having the ability to mange to stay at the top will give him a great deal of confidence this season, not to mention, some invitations that come along with this second place win.

Our winner at the Open was Lucas Glover. A professional who has been around for a number of years. A competent, steady, quiet player whose last win came at the old Funai in Orlando, Florida several years ago. A wonderful effort and a great money reward. Time will tell how this will affect his continuing efforts.

Lots of different shots of many professional golfers who are out there week in and week out to make a living from a difficult choice of professions. Of course, the real professional is there for the love of the game not the money.

The Swingyde is great!
By Elaine Hazelrigg "golf fanatic" (Albuquerque, NM USA)
I purchased the Swingyde to help me with the wrist hinge in my golf swing.
I wasn't sure I was doing it correctly and wanted some instant feedback.
The device is wonderful. I use it to practice and in my warm up before a round.
My iron striking has improved dramatically.

Medicus Dual Combo Pack Driver + 5 iron + 2 DVDs

Actual Customer Feedback

** I have used one before and I think it really helps with tempo, especially the transfer at the top of your swing. It will definately help your swing, if you have a traditional type swing. If you tend to swing a little flat, you will have trouble with the Medicus. It "forces" you to swing upright and on a single plane.

** I own the Medicus, both the driver and the 5 iron. I love them both. It is great tool for rhythm and tempo of the swing. They also keep your swing on a single plane.

** I am a PGA teaching Professional. I encourage my students to get the Medicus and practice with it. I use it at the driving range for the first ten minutes or so to get my muscles loose and get my swing on line.
