Beginners Golf - General Tips and Advice

Beginners Golf - General Tips and Advice
By Lawrence G

Assuming you have taken a number of golf lessons and you have been out regularly on the driving range practicing the different instructions the pro. coach has taught you e.g. grip , stance , swing and putting. Whatever the instructions were it is very important to stick to what you were told.

We will presume by now you have been out on the golf course on quiet a number of occasions. With that in mind here are a few tips for you and hopefully help you further and enjoy the game more.

• As in any new game one takes up they it will require plenty of practice regardless of what game it is, getting to know the game more helps you enjoy it more. • Before going out on the course before any game of golf, always arrive approx., 1 hour before you are due to play. Never arrive when you are due to play that is as neither your mind nor body are prepared and you will pay the price with poor to bad results. • Being late to play is a very big offence both to your playing partners and to the club as you will be delaying the time sheet. • Being at the golf course the hour before play, go to the driving range and practice with the different woods and irons including practice on the putting green. It will help you to relax and give confidence starting off your game. • Keep in mind that you are a beginner and won\'t get the all the results you would like for some time. • Stick with your prepared routine and remember you will be as good as and maybe just maybe even a little bit better than your beginner friends. • Your objective is to get to know, get used to and most of all enjoy the game of golf. • Teeing off: Stand well behind the ball and get a clear imaginary line to the target, pick a spot approx. 10 feet from the where ball is on the tee and the target line, line up to that target, hips and shoulders fully square to the target, relax and take a deep breath before hitting the ball with a nice even follow through swing. • When you will make lots of mistakes and as the professionals do, remember to beat the effect of the mistake is try and not get mad with yourself and most importantly put the mistake behind you, forget it and focuses on your next shot. Ideally you should play each shot as if it is the only shot you are going to play, take a deep breath, shake those shoulders and move on. • Always have your golf rule book in your golf bag that is your bible. It will be of great benefit if you or your partners require answers to any particular rule you may need answering remember by making the mistake and finding the answers that is one way you will remember the rules. • Don\'t hold your grip too tight, find a grip that is light and comfortable for you. A tight grip can cause all kind of problems; again relax with a nice easy grip. • Finally have one intention before you start your game and that should be to go out and enjoy the game, enjoy the beautiful scenery of the golf course and of course the fresh air.

The Swingyde is great!
By Elaine Hazelrigg "golf fanatic" (Albuquerque, NM USA)
I purchased the Swingyde to help me with the wrist hinge in my golf swing.
I wasn't sure I was doing it correctly and wanted some instant feedback.
The device is wonderful. I use it to practice and in my warm up before a round.
My iron striking has improved dramatically.

Medicus Dual Combo Pack Driver + 5 iron + 2 DVDs

* Medicus Golf Learning System is dedicated to assisting golfers of all ages. "Master the Basics" of golf through a consistent process of education, training and practice.

Actual Customer Feedback

** I have used one before and I think it really helps with tempo, especially the transfer at the top of your swing. It will definately help your swing, if you have a traditional type swing. If you tend to swing a little flat, you will have trouble with the Medicus. It "forces" you to swing upright and on a single plane.

** I own the Medicus, both the driver and the 5 iron. I love them both. It is great tool for rhythm and tempo of the swing. They also keep your swing on a single plane.

** I am a PGA teaching Professional. I encourage my students to get the Medicus and practice with it. I use it at the driving range for the first ten minutes or so to get my muscles loose and get my swing on line.
