Callaway Big Birtha 460 Driver:
The story behind a flatter shape
Callaway Golf engineers designed the Big Bertha
460 Driver with a shallower face, flatter shape and the highest moment
of inertia (MOI) ever in a Callaway Golf all-titanium head. That means
longer and straighter ball flight on off-center shots.
Stretched Head Design
460cc head volume and shallower face inspire confidence
at address. The wider head shape produces the highest MOI ever in a Callaway
Golf all-titanium head, resulting in increased stability and straighter
drives. A deeper center of gravity (CG) offers higher overall trajectory
and helps get the ball airborne.
Correct Alignment Stripe
Works in conjunction with the Chevron logo, allowing
golfers to consistently square the club face at address to ensure correct
alignment
CT/VFT Face Design
Modified version of VFT Technology in
which face thicknesses are designed specifically to maximize performance
under the new USGA Characteristic Time test, resulting in a more robust
face for increased ball speed on shots hit all over the face.
Actual Customer Feedback
I loved the X460, this is even better, I can
fade, draw, and crush this driver on demand with the NV 65 Stiff shaft.
The white line above the face which seems prevalent in the store was not
noticeable to me once I started to swing this on the range. By far the
best and longest driver I have played recently... This is in the bag for
the rest of the season, easy.

Overall, I'd say the benefits of the forgivness
of the driver make the overall rating go up. Callaway says it's the most
forgiving driver they've ever produced and I believe them.

Great job Callaway. The Big Bertha 460
looks, feels, sounds, is very forgiving, and fairly long. I only wish it
was offered in an 11 degree loft for lefties. I hit the 10 too low, the
HT is 13 degrees but is too high and costs me serious yardage.

Jul 28 2008,
I got a brand new Big Bertha 460 as a
gift. I hit it for the first time today. My mishits were immediately felt
and even when hit bad they weren't all that bad. A hit off the toe still
went a considerable distance. I hit this club back to back with a Tayler
Made r7 460. This club was straighter and about 15 yards longer.
Jim R
Pros: Huge distance, very forgiving, hot
club face, good sound.
Cons: Really good players probably won't
like this club because of its lack of workability.
